Job description
Primary Responsibilities
- Translate accurate different documents, including literary, technical, scientific, legal, research, educational, and commercial materials with compliance of CPL procedure.
- Reads through to material in one language (source language), ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into a second language (target language), making sure to preserve the original meaning.
- Proofread, edit, amend and revise the translated materials.
- Quality checking (QC) of material (translated document) for technical terms and terminology (ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation).
- SOP preparation for translation and quality check etc.
- Perform signing procedure as and when required.
- Glossary/Library preparation for medical and other subject translation field to compile terminology and information to be used in translations as and when required.
- Searching of reference materials such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopaedias, and computerized terminology as needed to ensure translation accuracy.
- Discuss translation requirements with clients and CPL for improvement of work.
- Discussion on subject matter with experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialised concepts and translate them appropriately.
- Utilized appropriate software as applicable.
Experience & Qualifications
- Typically, a relevant first (Bachelor’s) degree.
- Previous relevant translator experience expected.
